Welcome you to the home of Sixfoot & Salty.
I am Sara Stidwill; a 30 something Finance Operations Manager and home cook with an insane obsession for everything food... I'm a self confessed eater and feeder, the best bit by far is sharing my food with others.
It all started when my grandparents migrated from Egypt to Australia in 1968. They brought their culture, traditions and of course their love for Middle Eastern food.
That passion was translated through my mum and landed on me. I consider myself the modern Middle East; taking inspo from my grandparents, my mother and reimagining it for a time poor individual. All the flavour, in half the time.
Half my time is spent behind a desk and behind a camera, I reserve the last part for being behind a knife and a plate!
In 2021, I got to take on a big bucket list item of mine and go on MasterChef Australia. I presented 2 dishes though was not able to continue through to the top 24. I made it to top 36 out of over 30,000+ applicants. My dream to cook in the kitchen was real!! There is more about my journey on my Instagram, go check it out!
Prior to MC, I was a contestant on SBS Food's The Chef's Line Season 2 in 2018. I was on week 4, Middle Eastern week where I cooked from recipes that have been passed down from one generation to the next.. I got to represent my love of food while competing against the talented team at Kepos St Kitchen. The episodes aired on SBS Food and can now be found on Netflix.
Other than sharing my love for food, I am always out and about finding local cafes to strengthen my love of brunch foods but also spending time with those I love.
Food is not only about enjoyment but love and inspiration. I take from all around me in order to create something unique and enjoyable.
I hope my love of food makes it's way into your kitchen and most of all your belly.
